Red as DSLR replacement for family shots :-)

So here's an odd use for a $40k camera

I've got two young boys (5 weeks old and 23 months old) and my wife really wanted a shot of the two of them. Well that's a challenge to get a picture thats any good of two kiddos that age! Usually with my DSLR I'd end up with a hundred pictures or more and none that I really like. So I had this idea to just set up my Red and record whilst talking/joking with them from behind the lens and then do a frame extraction. Well it worked, this is the shot for our family Christmas card this year.

That was a great idea, and once again, i'm amazed at how indistinguishable this is from a photo taken with a 35mm still camera.

Will be interesting once that new Adobe technology comes to market, where you simply mark a "good frame" of each person individually, and Adobe does the rest of putting it together into one proper looking frame.
