How do I send my red footage to my VFX artists(they are using Shake and want .dpx files) and how do they give me these files back so that they can go into my timeline on Final Cut. Also media is wrapped in ProRes and not reconnected to the proxies yet.

From your post, I'm assuming that used the L&T plugin to transcode your footage to ProRes for editing. If that's the case, you can do a couple different things:

1. Conform your edit to the R3D files using Crimson and output to DPX using Redcine.

2. Conform your timeline to a new H proxy timeline using Clipfinder and send the new timeline out to Color. You can output as DPX from there as well.

Using either method, you'll have the opportunity to do a 1-light color correction (in either Redcine or Color) prior to outputting as DPX while you still have the flexibility of the raw camera data at your disposal. Once you've outputted to DPX, all of that is lost.
