Rathe basic question,

what are some ways to keep the red good in cold? (weather 35-45 degree realm) so it boots up fine and doesnt shut off?

if you're worried, you could always wrap it in a heat pack for good measure, especially keep the batteries warm. i usually try to keep the batteries as close to my body as possible to keep them warm before shooting, then use your hands, the car heater, or whatever to get them to a decent temperature. you don't really want your equipment to be super hot, just around room temperature.

35 degrees is no problem for the red. No special measures necessary. You might want to keep the batteries warm, but that's about it.

Ha! You call 35-45 degrees cold? I wear shorts in that kind of balmy weather. Try -45 this morning with windchill...exposed skin freezes in under 10 minutes. We even plug our cars in to make sure they start in the morning.
