im sure this question must have been addressed somewhere in the user forums but i was just wondering, After receivership of red camera/accessories what is the expected delivery of red accessories if made as a separate purchase post receivership of red camera itself , Say if i decide i need an extra red-drive would i need to wait on this or could i expect it to be delivered immediately and not as part of a production schedule ??

As i asked before. It's part of your delivery along with the camera and will not be separate purchase. However, you need to place it earlier and put extra downpayment and not on the day when they tell you that the camera is ready to be ships, so they can set it up earlier and test it out.

I wondered who and when we'd have to speak to someone about ordering accesories if our cameras are in the next shipment.

I need some help.

For example, purchasing the Red LCD looks like it already comes with the arm and the cable, the EVF looks like you have to buy the cable and arm seperately? Is this correct? It seems confusing to offer one as a package and the other as seperate items. I'm juts going on the pics but I'd like to know for sure so I havent got spares of items I do not need.

I'd also like to talk all the production/mounting kit through with someone as I'm still unclear what all the parts do.

As far as I know not all of the first 100 cameras have EVF's yet, so I'm not sure if Red have got these on a production line for delivery with the next batch.

Regarding the LCD and EFV, this has been addressed before, do a search if you like, they BOTH come with arm and cable.

I've got a pretty good grasp on allthe parts, I saw most of them up close at IBC and got to ask about what seemd unclear to me. I'll gladly answer any question you might have.

Latest I heard, the EVF firmware was still in beta, only a few beta units have been delivered (if it is only the firmware or the hardware which is beta, I don't know). It was announced the EVFs would be delivered starting with camera 101, hopefully that still holds, although they may have had to put all their ressources into the new PL mount and solving the production hold.

Cheers,
Damien

Thanks earthling, I might PM closer to the ship date if I have any questions about the parts.

I actually wondered whether the Red cradle would be redesigned.... I just have this funny feeling the Redrive isnt a priority anymore. Might be useful to have a cradle for the battery alone

Already exists, that would be the quickplate...

ahhhh, excellent info. I'm looking at a lot of those parts saying 'what the hell do I do with that?'.

Thanks a lot earthling.

I was told that we dont have to make our final accesories decision until they contact us for payment and then at that point you can order everything else, ie lenses, cables, parts etc. I'm not sure if anything has changed since I ordered but thats what a RED representative told me. I did order the basics myself but there are still other accesories I will be buying as well.
Also, I dont think your locked into anything on your order either. If CF cards pricing goes up cause the card size goes from 8 gigs to 32 gigs between now and then and you decide you dont want it anymore I'm pretty sure you can just cancel that when they contact you for your final order.
anyone else care to backup all this?
