Now just make a good follow focus and remote one, mattebox and fluid head, those are the most expensive things needed. And you could break the price barriere here again. Is RED planing to make these things?

Yes but one from RED would obviously be of a better quality, probably near or better then ARRI things. Because RED has proven that it will deliver a totally professional quality on a very low price. Redrock made things that are worth more than it's price but RED DELIVERS, BABY! Oh yes it does. Say you buy Redrock wireless follow focus, you make good job and now you enter the world of professionals, the money is flowing, and you will now like to move to a more professional equipment. But in a case of RED you will not need to do this and you probably wouldn't want to.

Not sure how you can deduce that from what we've seen offered to date.
Red make an awesome camera, but so far they have not shown they can produce accessories that even come close to Arri in quality and mechanical engineering. That's why so many of us are prepared to pay out large amounts for MB 20's and FF4's.
That's the level they have to achieve, or better, to be taken seriously as an accessories manufacturer.
Tom.

Ok, you can't put a handle to a same basket as remote follow focus or a wiev finder. Is their view finder of a bad quality? Or monitors?
Yes, they didn't put that much attention to a less complicated accessories but it seem that more complicated the job the better they do it.

Felipe,
I wasn't really talking about the electrical accessories,I thought your post was referring to the mechanical ones, specifically Matt box and follow focus.
I love the EVF,it's the best I've ever used, and the monitor is good, but the fact of the matter is that in order to effectively use the EVF you have to buy another mechanical mount for it,because the one supplied isn't up to the job.
Red have indeed shown excellence in a lot of ways, but follow focus whether it be manual or motor driven,is a very tricky thing to get right.
Testament to that is the number of crap units that are out there and the difficulty, that even an experienced company like Viewfactor are having developing theirs.
I don't doubt that Red can deliver that excellence, but I would rather they spent their time and resources elsewhere. Do we really need another Matt Box no matter how pretty it all looks in the renderings.
It seems to me that the market is already well provided for at various price points, but if Red can bring something new to the table then we should all welcome it.
Just my 2 pence worth.
Tom.

I would not hold your breath for them to make mechanical accessories. They had a MB program a little bit ago, but scrapped it because of the availability of other low-cost solutions springing up.

Here's the way I'm looking at it: non-RED accessories came to about $20k for me. I figure that RED could make the same things for $8k. $12k is less than 10 jobs. I would take ARRI, O'Connor, etc. accessories (proven, solid, known by DPs, durable, Name Brand, compatible with everything else out there, lasts forever) for 10 more jobs.
