Hey guys,

So im going to be putting together a little piece for the NAB Red 4k Challenge. Post production knowledge isn't my strongest suit, so im having to try and learn very quickly. So I decided why not just ask through here, im sure other people are curious also.

So here is what it is. The only programs im going to be using for this are Redcine-X Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, and After Effects.

Im going to be editing native r3d's in premiere, get a lock down done, then do a CC in After Effects since I can't use DaVinci Lite.

So with using those programs what would be your most efficient best way at doing this?

Also, a quick question about outputting to DPX, how exactly do they want the DPX files? Just in their own folder, or do I need to put them into an AE sequence after im done? That is really what is getting me.

So please throw any information out there that you might possibly have!

Thanks!

Hey Michael-
I'm not going to respond to your big question as I'm not an Adobe video guy, but just wanted to point out one thing about DaVinci. I assume you say you can't use it because of the 1080p output limitation. (If that's not the reason, then never mind) Anyway, what I've heard from several different folks is that the Lite and full version projects are completely interchangeable, so if you did want to stick with Resolve rather than learn a new workflow in a short period of time, you can grade on Lite, and then perhaps borrow or rent an hour on a full version to do an export. I will say I haven't personally done this, and have no clue whether or not it's officially supported, but I have heard it works.

Good luck with your submission!
Peace,

-Harry

Hey, that's not a bad idea...

I wonder if it is compatible with the full version of Resolve...
