RED #270 - Los Angeles, CA

Hello, fellow RedUsers.

I'd like to take this opportunity to let everyone know that RED #270 (owned by Chris Hill) has officially arrived at it's new home in Los Angeles! First images were shot on Friday (01/18/08) during some simple interior lighting tests.

Chris is a close friend and colleague of mine. His company, Hill Digital, specializes in renting Cameras, Equipment, and On-set Services. Some of you in Hollywood may already know Chris from his many years in the industry as a Video and Camera Engineer, or by his former company and family owned business, Hill Production Services, where he specialized in high-speed cameras. (Chris and I met several years ago while working on Warner Brothers Features and PrimeTime shows doing Video and Computer Playback.)

This is an incredibly exciting time and we will keep you posted on the adventures of Chris's RED #270 and #1041 with Camera tests and behind-the-scene coverage on our projects.

Thanks to Jim, the RED Team, and everyone here on REDUser for all of the great advice, support, opportunities, and friendships.

It's going to be an incredible ride!

I've been reading your posts and you mentioned that you made payment a week after Red contacted you. Red then replied and said they were swamped and that they were lubricating your mount. Not to flame you but if that was me I'd be fkn pissed! And yes with those photo's it seems 270 has landed!

had you looked at where 260 is based? perhaps it is in the plane on the way to him whereas 270 may have driven down to oc and picked theirs up...you are splitting hairs here gentlemen, my experience tells me if they got their payments in on the same day then of course 260 will wait longer because it requires more to ship.

Yes, the shipment arrived on Friday. As others have noticed, we are in RED's backyard, being in Los Angeles, so any international shipment will of course take much longer than ours.

We will be posting results of some test shoots shortly. Stay tuned.

yes, but gentleman's from Belgium (Bosnia and Belgium is same Europe!) got their #285 & 286 cameras few days before!
