Red 18-80mm coverage on Epic?

[Shawn Nelson]

It's not on the camtec sticky...so has anyone with an Epic done a test of the coverage?

While we're at it, anyone want to chime in their thoughts on that lens? There's so little about it out there

[Mark Pedersen]

Are you referring to the RED 18-85mm zoom?

[Shawn Nelson]

yes! thanks. changed it

[Mark Pedersen]

My rental shop just tested my 18-85 and Duclos 11-16 on an EPIC X. I'll get the info and pass it on.

Our 18-85 is GREAT at 20-85. At 18 we do see some vignette on 2.4:1 at 5k. Just push in those tiny 2mm or so and you're there.

[Shawn Nelson]

bummer, 18-20mm is nice to have. oh well, 20-85 is still pretty badass.

Do you have any footage shot using your 18-85 on Epic that I could see?

[IAN SUN]

Shawn you can check out this extensive thread I started asking the same question. Some very helpful responses there from Ketch and others. Upshot is is seems to be pretty darn good. Ill be getting one soon.

Great thread Ian!

Still havent seen any footage from it on epic. Any links, anyone?

[Shawn Nelson]

come on James, you seem to be the only 18-85 and Epic owner. Post some footage!

[James Drake]

Hey Shawn, this piece was shot all on the 18-85. I believe all of the Vignette parts were corrected by punching in a few % in post. http://vimeo.com/30297039
Light CC, images are close to what we shot. If you want more examples, PM or email
