I have a RED 18-50mm RED lens that I bought used.
I was on a 3 weeks expedition across the country when the focal length ring suddenly decided not to turn past 24mm.
Almost as if some gears or a screw inside was blocking a full rotation between 18mm and 50mm. I could certainly feel the resistance and the absolute stoping point. The lens was carefully transported in a case and was not dropped, so I am extremely curious if this could have been a random occurrence, and/or something common with these lenses?
Obviously it needs to be serviced, so I am also curious if RED is the best place to send it? I am on the east coast in Philly.
Any insight or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
