Red 18-50 and 50-150 back form the dead?

Just got an e-mail from B&H about these...

They look identical to the Red 18-50 and 50-150 and you can buy the set for $6500...

It looks like the two RED zooms with the DigiOptics name on them. I'm betting that's the only difference between these lenses and the ones RED is selling. But its a hell of a deal on the 50-150 if it is the same lens. RED is still selling that one for over $8K.

RED says it is not the same lenses...

They sorta look kinda similarish, though... Kind of the same product-idea... at least... sort of, maybe... But I guess the insides of the lenses are wildly different!

As RED has replaced the 18-50, one could dare hope there was a new 50-200 in the works...

My guess is Digioptical is the company that manufactured the RED 18-50 and 50-150 on behalf of and under REDs QC until the deal for some reason ended.

Now all the manufacturing equipment is still there, the contract with RED is over, so they have dumped the price by more than 60% and keep selling it, but now without the RED brand and REDs costumer service/QC.

My guess.

These lenses are so similar in design and specs, they MUST come from the same place as the RED ones did, but now without possibly without the warranty and QC previously provided by RED.
