These are some tests that I shot last night with Richard Darge after I got my RED MX back from RED. The new sensor is amazing and we had a lot of fun playing around with the high ISOs. Granted we shot at the limit Jim has said he found expectable and beyond. But we wanted to see what the new sensor could do if it was pushed. So these clips have just a little bit of contrast added and maybe a change in color temp. No noise reduction was added. Used Ziess ZF lenses, Sigma 20mm along with the Nikon 80-200mm for these shots. I'll also try and post some of the smaller R3Ds.

Well if you want to come out next time just say so. Might do some more shots beginning of next week. Goes for anyone else interested.

Downloading from Vimeo now. BTW, the 599productions.com link you posted isn't working right, at least not for me.

Sorry about that man. Should be good to go now.

Wow, very clean at 3200, some noise reduction will make it very usable.

More amazing shots. Thanks for posting. Pleasantly surprised at the 1/2 sec exposures

Yeah those shots turned out okay. The sensor still has the hot pixel problem that the M sensor had. But at 1920x1080 you really can't see it. I haven't tried doing a black shade with it in the slow shutter setting yet. But its on my list of things to test shoot.

The wide dynamic range really shows. Detail into the deep shadows and little or no bloom on highlights. Very impressive. Thanks for the posts.

I'd love to play with some r3d's if you can manage to post some.

Yeah, do a black shade at the slower shutter speed first.

When I get back to LA after the weekend I'm going to go back out to get some timelapse specific shots. So I'll make sure to do a black shade before at the timelapse setting I'm going to use.

Most of the R3Ds are a little big to put up anywhere. But I'll see what I can do. Next time I'll also remember to roll some smaller clips to make the R3Ds a little smaller.

Yea, 7D looks plastic-like.. The 1080 Pro Res clips of the mX are noisier than the downsampled web versions.. Then again, we were also rating at 6400ISO..
