  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED 1163 Has Come Home

Congrats! I should have #1165 on Monday. After a year and some change, I don't mind waiting a couple more days and save my $70 : )

That doesn't mean I didn't think about it, though.

Awesome, Sean! Do yourself a favor, and just upgrade to build 15 as soon as you get the camera. I waited all day to do it, and now I'm beating myself for having wasted an entire day with build 13. Not that 13 bad mind you, just that 15 is sooo much better.

Cheers!

Note that there is no lens on the camera. I'm off to the local rental house to throw some glass on it. I'll post some footage later this weekend.

Also, ignore the location of the handles. Missing from my delivery was the bottom plate, shoulder pad, a handle mount, and a universal mount (for the handle mount). So, nothing on the bottom of the camera to mount any rails or handles onto. I'm hoping to have this resolved shortly.

Accessory finish looks MUCH better. And it sounds like tolerances have been improved as well.

Thanks for listening Red!!

your shots from the local rental house are from Redman Movies in SLC right? say hi to my friends there. that where we rented from for the shoot we did out on the Salt Flats.

Thanks! looks very good now.
Fast reaction of RED from the time problem was noted to the time the corrected parts were shipped, 3-4 weeks!!!

Could someone tell me how to insert big jpg files in the body of the message like kylemallory did in this post?
When I upload the jpg file to the forum it doesn’t tell me the exact path where it is stored.

Redman Movies in SLC. Yeah, I've known Bryan for as long as I've been making movies. They're are a great bunch of guys. If any of you guys ever come to SLC for a shoot, Redman will hook you up! They pretty much know everything and everyone who has anything to do with filmmaking in Utah.
