  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED 1023 for sale ready now

"we remind you to please not discuss the event on the boards or share this event information with other reservation holders."

so ! which part of "PLEASE DO NOT DISCUSS... or SHARE this ..INFO " do you not understand ?

Huh?

What's the issue? I must have missed something.

You know, the last RED on EBAY went for 22,100 with the powerpack and production pack....

including the 2500 credit the seller made maybe around 4500 tops. Maybe the days of expecting a high premium are over????

Hi,

I know of a camera that changed hands at cost with the $2500 accessories credit included.

I would also add that the terms of this most recent sale were...unique (without sounding like a xenophobe: money wired to Chinese bank, no physical camera but rather purchase by "proxy" etc).

the POST was deleted .. the poster had copied a email set out by RED that requested the contents not be shared/discussed on the boards ...

Peter,
You are sounding like a xenophobe. How is wiring funds to a bank in Shanghai any different from wiring to a bank in US. You think there are no ebay scams in USA? Oh, the people in USA never lie, rob, steal.

You are not thinking, if it is a scam, it would say the camera is already here, and send in all the money. But you have to send RED the money for the camera. And there are many steps of varification. This is not the first camera sold before physical delivery.

The terms of my deal is more strict and detailed than most others.
And I know there are a coupla of sneaky fellas out to spread rumours and sabotage the sale.
But as long as the deal goes through and I have the camera delivered to the buyer as promised, you'll see a buyer confirming the deal is real and I delivered as promised.

The camera about which this thread was started sold just a few days ago for $26,600 -- a $9,000 premium.

I can't understand why anyone would go to the trouble and risk of passing along his camera at cost when he could've gotten a full refund from Red.

Another used one sold for $32.1K 2 weeks ago.
I think RED owners and reservation holders should be happy that RED's are getting a premium. Those that whine either don't have a RED or are trying to get one cheap or just need to have his head re-examined.

LCW,

I'm not trying to assault your sale at all. I have no doubt that you are trustworthy and that everything will proceed according to the terms you set forth. My message was just trying to point to the fact that there does indeed seem to be a healthy aftermarket for the camera. Hope that helps and congrats again on your sale. Did everything proceed ok with it?

Peter

Could it be the 9,000 premium?

You must have missed the post I was responding to.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Why would anyone transfer their new RED for no premium when large premiums are available?

If you're going to transfer your RED for no premium, you may as well just surrender it back to RED and save the hassle. That's why every new RED transfered will be and should be at at premium, and why I'm doubtful about the story of someone transfering their new camera without a premium.
