*NEW BTS SHOTS ADDED 4/02/08

I am very excited to announce that I will be working on the very first Vietnamese produced feature film shot on RED.

Title: 14 DAYS
Company: Chanh Phuong Films in association with Cinema Pictures
Executive Producer: Jimmy Pham Nghiem and Tawny Nguyen
Director: Khoa Trong Nguyen
Cinematographer: Dominic Pereira
Camera & Actioncam Operator: Tonaci Tran

I think it is a big moment for the Vietnamese Film industry and will be the first of many Vietnamese features shot on RED to come. I can't imagine a camera any better for the job to capture the beauty of Vietnam. The Vietnam snippet clips I uploaded before are not from this film, but it gives you an idea of whats to come. The majority of this film will be shot in Saigon.

To give you a little background on the company producing this project, Chanh Phuong Film's previous film titled "THE REBEL" (shot on 35mm film) was picked up by the Weinsteins. The cinematographer who worked on the REBEL will also be working on this film. Speedgrade put up a little info page regarding THE REBEL movie:

I guess thats it for now.. please check this thread for updates.

Great project Tonaci congratulations and thanks for posting!

Please keep us updated with clips from the set!

Thanks David.. words can't describe how excited I am. I'll have to clear it with the production company first, but my hope is to share some behind the scenes production photos. As it's not my own film, I won't be able to post clips..but I will ask if I can post some teaser stills from the field.

Congratulations Tonaci. Enjoy every moment and I look forward to following your progress with this project.

Congratulations! Very Exciting. I've been itching to take another trip through Asia and Vietnam in particular.

Did you get your Actioncam yet? How is that working out for you?

Congrats! Have fun!

Tonaci, make sure you can take the camera back to the US. Make sure all the paper works are in place. I knew those people you are working with, we go way back, they are good people. Have fun, I did with "Three Seasons".

Tonaci, make sure all the paper works are in place and insurance for your camera, Vietnam is still a mess in terms of paper work. You can bring things in but bring it out without paper upfront is a problem. I knew all the filmmakers you have mentioned, they are good people. Have fun in Vietnam, I did with "Three Seasons". I heard from Dominic that you are a steadicam op, too?

This is very exciting! I can't wait to see it.

The stills from The Rebel are completely beautiful.

Wow.

What is 14 Days about?

A few behind the scenes shots in Vietnam. It is very surreal being out here right now. Very hot and humid conditions so RED is definitely getting a torture test. Doing pickups/b-roll stuff right now so trying to go fairly light to move around swiftly. We will have video village set up beginning next week. Shooting with super speeds and realizing how awesome being able to open to 1.3 is.

These BTS are definitely more fun. Go carts..vans.. wheelchair (I know i know..wheres my actioncam!! hehe. As soon as my friend brings over the bartech cable (big special thanks to Haakon), the Actioncam will get some action.

Nothing like operating a RED from inside a go-cart..ehehe that kind that is uncontrollable. Stephen Pizzo..come to the rescue.. must..have..Element Technica Handheld
