Recording progressive to the Ninja? Or any HDMI device?

Did anybody find any device that takes the progressive output from a Scarlet via HDMI?

I'm asking because for someone who owns a Scarlet the Ninja should be attractive for it's price, but it doesn't work with progressive input.

I always thought that it's a fault of the Scarlet (having seen the problems with some screens attached via HDMI), but recently I had the chance to test the Ninja with a Sony FS100, which can be set to true progressive too (not Psf, that works well). To my surprise, it doesn't work either!

So, I set up another test with an AJA Io XT, a BM UltraStudio and a Matrox MXO2, which all list progressive signals for HDMI input in their specs. They all don't work with both the Scarlet and the Sony FS100 (set to progressive) ! What the f$%& ?

Are they all lying in their tech specs? All of these devices take progressive signals from the Scarlet just fine via SDI, but then I'd need to pay the extra $$$ for the Samurai, which I'd rather spend on my rig…

Any ideas?

Ninja doesn't take progressive from C300 either. But the image still looks better than C300 shots recorded on CF card, actually less banding. When you compare the two screen grabs they both look a bit interlaced although C300 was set up to shoot 24P. After all I'm a bit confused...

I'm not sure if it's RED's fault (only). Yes they could fix it with PsF (if the hardware allows), but why doesn't it work on any camera, RED, Sony or Canon?

Are the specs for HDMI still incomplete or did someone f$%& up a standard interface chip they all use?

@ Trevor:
Sure, I know about the PIX 240, but there is a little issue with the price vs. a Ninja…
