I'm planning on getting an Atomos external monitor and recorder. I know my RED Scarlet-X only outputs 1080p, and I'm fine with that, but what I want to know is if the camera can send a record start/stop trigger to the Atomos via SDI. I've tried it with my HDMI-only Atomos and there is no trigger via HDMI. I've also looked in the menus and don't see any options, so maybe it's just always enabled (or disabled)?

Mark, I've used the Atomos Flame and Blade with DSMC 1 cameras and both trigger on/off via SDI. It's an Atomos menu item.......Good luck.

But I don’t think the filenaming is the same, so you can’t really use as quick/easy proxies...
