I've been using a Peak Design 30L backpack for my Red gear... works nicely for that, though it's not great for trekking (no room for extra stuff). So for more intensive trips I use my McHale SuperSARC 2... it's a monster load hauler, but the collapsible stays make it possible to stash in the overhead compartments on most flights -- it just takes a bit of care in packing, because even collapsed it is still possible to carry quite a bit of gear in it.
Plus, I've not found anything that carries a load as well as a McHale pack, and they're built to last... I've probably trekked around 2000 miles with mine in the ten years that I've had it.
