So this is something that I've seen a bunch on, but have never quite wrapped my head around.
What's the "recommended" method for down-scaling final video output to 1080 from 4k?
I'll use a very basic workflow as an example (only using FCPX in this case)
Should I:
+ Edit footage on a 4k timeline, export 4k master file, downsize to 1080 in compressor (or other)?
+ Edit footage on a 4k timeline, export 1080 master file from FCPX?
+ Edit footage on a 1080 timeline?
Are there any tricks to get that "crisp-ness" on the 4k -> 1080 downscale?
Thanks!
