  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Received your BT R1? Say it here and your feelings!

I got the amount deducted from my bank today.. no word on shipping yet though. I ordered 4-5 hours after the announcement

YES!!! Correction: I JUST got my tracking number!! looks like i spoke too soon. great job guys at Red!

Have to give it up to our Warehouse & Shipping Team, they closed out the day and processed and shipped as much as they possibly could, they were even able to get another late truck here for pick up.

We received both our Red One's today! I ordered right away and I live in Los Angeles. I wasn't there to receive the package personally, so I'll have to report later about details. I'm pretty stoked about the whole thing. Its all a little to good to be true... 4k for $4K :) Props to the Red team.

Yes details would be nice once you get the chance

Received my BT red one today at 1pm! even though it's used, the condition of my model was near mint. posting pics soon.

Is it me or do the people on the web over complicate things? The Red One is very simple to use. I had it up and running in minutes.
I have heard it is difficult to work with. But from my experience it the last few days it is simple and easy to obtain great images with minimal effort. This is easier to deal with then a Canon DSLR with Magic Lantern.

Another thing they complain about: the weight. Wake up people. A similar equipped 35mm camera will weigh 70 LBS. You can get by with just a redmag, battery belt and a lens if you have to. Also if you attach a full rig and a mattebox to a dslr it will get very heavy quickly.

The user assigned buttons are great. Very simple to program and all the features i use are now a click away on the camera.

So in conclusion 90% of anything extremely negative about the Red One must have been written by people who did not use it.
