Was on our first shoot this past Saturday and the button on the back of the camera was wonky and would just record by itself and turn off on it's own too. It kept doing that and we found that the button seemed to be stuck slightly and didn't have that little 'click' sound like it does on the side-record button.

Any way to fix this??? This was on our first shoot and we just received the camera 2 days before the shoot.

Oh really? Many people have experienced this problem before too? Sometimes it's hard not to use because it will automatically engage and disengage the record function of the camera automatically without even touching it...

I'm am on a shoot right now with the red. We've had the same problem on day 2 (second day the camera has been out of the box). The record button seems to be stuck and only works part of the time. The button on the smart side of the camera works fine though. As long as the button on the smart side works, its only a minor issue for now. We just don't use the rear button.

Would be fine, if the same button will be installed on the back as you find it on the front side. It seems that the chassis is holding the button down if you not really push it in the center.

Thanks for the reports.. I will pass this forward to the engineers to see what they say, I personally havnt had any problems since it was fixed during the first 100.

It happened just now.
I could not shut it off from back and used side button to stop recording.
I thought I was doing something wrong.
It was camera test, so no problem for any data.

I'll send my 1740 back to California for another problem that and I'll report this malfunction to their tech also.
