  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Really serious competition..

Their camera is a 3D render and they haven't released any footage from it yet, not to mention the likelihood of this camera actually shipping will probably be 2014 in which we'll probably see much better things then.

If you think RED and Black Magic have delivery problems.....

My heart beats every time they say "Open Source". It means, that this stuff is going to go beyond expectations. I remember clearly when the Linux guys started to develop Android..

What's interesting is that that same sensor is listed in a BUNCH of machine vision cameras from reputable manufacturers with a history of delivery. So I very much expect it to happen in some shape or form!

The only question of course is if the image quality of the sensor is any good... if the colors are good... you know, crazy "skin tones" Bruce cares about this stuff.

Personally I'm interested in Axiom and have donated a little to them. The guys behind it do seem to have some experience - the one chap was from Elphel and they made the current camera platform that Apertus runs on - yes, they do have a current working platform, shipping - if you want a 2K stereo-synchronizable camera with a slightly old sensor, you can buy it pretty cheaply.

Anyway... fun!
