The price for a S35 Scarlet is too good to not consider for all us newbies out trying to make a name for ourselves in the industry. Obviously $2,500 for the 2/3 is unbelievable. I am trying to get a better understanding on what the price differences between the accessories necessary for the two cameras.

Say you can build a functioning 2/3 camera with the i/o module, power, storage, maybe something similar to the base production bundle for the Red One, and a lens or two for $8,000. Great deal methinks.

Not accounting for tripod, the cost associated with post for the larger res ,and if one were to buy used Pl lenses off ebay or use the nikon mount would it be possible to spend $13,000(including brain) and have a usable camera if you go with the s35?

The thing I see is for 2/3" you're probably looking at expensive HD glass (ie. Canon HJ4.7x11) whereas with S35 you can use stills glass...

I know people have talked about machine vision C-mount glass, but I wouldn't be comfy with that (simply because I have no experience with it).

Power: $1500*
LCD: $1750 for 5.6"*
LCD USED 5.6" $1300
LCD: $1000 for 4.8"
LCD: $500 for 3" LCD
CF module: $500*
Handle: $1000 (with power)
I/O $1000
Nikon Mount: $500*
Production Pack: $1250*

* Current RED ONE Accessory prices.

My guess is, between $3,000 and $5,000 for the accessories to shoot.
