  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

real world IMS-mount footage 01

Ciao Fritz,
bellissime still. Complimenti! E l' IMS mount mi sa che lo compro anch'io.
Un favore se hai tempo riesci a postarle anche nel gruppo di facebook?
Grazie.

Ciao Luca,

already tried it - but I am better at shooting than with the web :umm: I'll give it a second try, nevertheless. My first Red project by the way will be a TV doc about the Italian gold reserves stored in Fortezza during WW2, looted by the Germans, found secretely by the Americans and being revealed to the Banca d'Italia by an Austrian concentration camp survivor from Vienna in a 7-year search. He will be my main character. I will shoot the treaser for this film in late september / early october. At the same time I will also shoot the teaser for a project on the Dolomites. So, expect some new footage in around 6 weeks - this time going for the Canon EF tele lenses, TL and grip. The shots of the fortress of Fortezza will be spectacular.

ciao ciao, Fritz

Read that there was some request for "real world" IMS-mount footage: here are some stills. IMS+PL+Red18-50 / +Canon EF+100mm 2.8 Macro. All artefacts due to jpeg-compression. all shots touched a bit with RedAlert! and/or RedCine. Build 15. Enjoy it!

Fritz

Hi Fritz, did you feel a difference in the "direct PL mount" with the Red lens and the "IMS PL" mounted Red lens? Besides reajusting your backfocus once after the IMS mount installation, is there any kind of ajustment to make to the cam when you swap lenses types, or is it just click, click, click, click... Well, you get the picture...?

PS: Your stills are pretty amazing...

Fritz,fantastic shots.
With one of my cameras coming in a few weeks it's crunch time for me with the IMS,do I put my money where my mouth is and ignore the warranty,or be a pussy!
I think it has to be IMS.
Tom.

Hi guys,

thanks for the compliments!

1. backfocus/collimation: once it is properly done, it's done. I just keep swapping PL/EF-mounts and optics. Works nicely. I honestly have no idea why this problem with the warranty exists.

LOL My word! I thought the same. I am doing docs, so I don't expect to use the i/cable in the near future. But I need an efficient, convenient and quality-consistent solution - that's why I chose the IMS.

Tom, I am in London at Victoria Coach Station right now, will be at the ICA from 15.00 onwards - this evening is the screening of "Heavy Load", feature doc about a very special Punk Band by my friends Jerry Rothwell and Al Morrow. Unfortunately got to head to Frankfurt tomorrow early morning (London's just great), but if you are around this area (Victoria/Piccadilly) would be nice to meet for a coffee and a chat. ++39-349-8835114

Cheers, Fritz

...

Just don't forget, lenses have to be collimated against a mount. It is not a 'mount-only' question. Thats why lenses are tested on a camera before a project and why both do offer the possibilty.

Join the club! :)

Haha, you're my men. Wonder what happens next. RED can't ignore this longer, or can they ?
Anybody ?
