Hey guys, saw "Real Steel" last night, pretty nifty movie. Just curious if anybody else who's seen it noticed the Epic-looking cameras some of the reporters were sporting, including a Redrock Shoulder rig at one point. Also, I noticed at some points a few of the Epic-looking cameras had a dual 3D lens attached to the front with "3D" stickers on the side. I don't know if this was coincidence or a clever inside joke about video cameras these days. If they were Epics, I didn't see any B-roll shots they could have used but I thought it was amusing to see nonetheless.

You should be aware that this picture was shot primarily on Sony F35.

I wasn't aware of that, makes it a little strange then.

Edit: Although, thinking back on it, they did show Nikon and Canon VDSLRs being used so it wasn't an all Sony product show or anything. Maybe there'll be more opinions once more people see the movie.

I saw these as well.. The 3D lens on them looks to have Panasonics 3D logo on them.

The body themselves are no question RED inspired, they look like older prototypes. For all we know the production designer liked the look of the RED cameras and had them make them custom.

From what I understand, the principal photography on that movie was actually shot 2 years ago. Early prototypes make sense.

Lol took my kids to see the movie and miss what was going on because I was looking at the wanna be epic. I seen one that look like a scarlet/Panasonic 3d mix

just saw this and yeah...there are TONS of them, starts in that zesus scene and then again in the garage its pretty damn clear but its like they shoved the hood from that Panasonic 3D camera onto the Scarlet Fixed...

Was curious where that army of scarlets went ha
