Re-using Mini Mags without formatting?

I'm buying the Scarlet-W kit and it comes with the 120 gig card. I'm going to be able to afford 1 extra 512 gig card. I know it's not ideal to have different capacity cards, but it's all my money will allow me.

My question are:

1) If you shoot half of the 512 gig card and DIT takes it for downloading, is it safe to re-use the same, half full card WITHOUT re-formatting it? On shoot days I try my hardest to avoid formatting cards.

2) Is Mini Mag file structure too confusing to download half the card, shoot again, then download the second half of the footage later? This might be a little dangerous correct?

1) Yes you can continue shooting on the same card after it has been ejected.
2) its possible to only download half the card. They are self contained folders for each clip. Only human error can happen here.


Also keep in mind that you can't delete selective clips on the card using the camera. Also, the card should only be formatted with a camera. So don't attempt to delete some clips on the card on your desktop and then continue to shoot with the card.
