Re: RED Epic > Pix 240 > Avid 6 workflow
Hey
So Im on osx 10.6.8, Avid 6. I just started a job shooting on the RED Epic with a pix 240 making realtime QT dailies. The producer wants to use the QTs made from the Pix as offline media so the RED footage doesn't have to be transcoded. The problem is that the timecode of the QTs is slightly off from the RED media. This is keeping me from being able to reconnect a sequence cut with the Pix media and to the RED media.
Has anyone ever tried using a Pix to create offline media (not just dailies/references)? I have the pix and Epic setup per this Sound Devices instructional video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BxPBQShG5k. The pix is being started and stopped via the HD-SDI TC ouput of the Epic so I'm lost on why the QT doesn't have the exact timecode and duration as the RED files.
Thanks,
Will
