I am running RCX 454 I have a MACPRO 1.1 with a 3.0 ghz quad core (x2) so an eight core with eleven gigs of ram and the NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT graphics card.
I x-code all the time with no issues, I always use RCX, this is the first occurrence. When I transcode (overnight) It goes for the first few clips then it renders out black frames, all my footage came out black, somewhere through the third clip it goes black, I still have audio on all my clips. My energy saver settings are off, it does not put hard drives to sleep, I turned those settings off a long time ago. What could be the issue Im having? It also did a few clips with the S000 ending. It is a Red One camera from Brooks Institute I have no idea what build it is, I can get this info if necessary. Im going to redo it, will repost if i had success. Thanks for any advice on this.:furious3:

Hey Joel,

First off, you should probably grab the latest version of REDCINE-X, which is v470 as of this post. I'm assuming there's no RED Rocket card (overnight transcode and all).. However, if there is one, be sure to install the latest drivers AND FIRMWARE (people often miss that firmware step).

Do the clips all load and play fine in REDCINE-X? In the past there was a glitch, and I don't remember what caused it, camera firmware, etc.... But this glitch would sometimes cause clips to load into RED ALERT or REDCINE-X where they showed as black or no image. Clicking the button to reset the metadata would fix it. simple. Sometimes altering a curve or other setting would make the image pop up too.

If that's not the problem, then it could be something else on the system if your image is going black after a period of time in your renders. Would need more info about the system, but it could be a hardware or software issue. ...RAM, hard drive, etc..

Okay, I have not had any issues in the past or even a crash of REDCINE-X, so what I did initially before updating to 470 was a prores proxy export, 1/4 debayer, I let them run overnight but halfway through a clip in the third roll it stopped and went black while sound continued, all the rest of the transcodes were all black with audio, I upgraded to 470 followed the same steps, now it stopped in the eighth roll halfway through a clip with sound prevailing and black instead of video. So I deleted bad x-codes started it up again and its transcoding, my system isnt on a schedule, its not sleeping the disks, its going via esata to a GDrive that has its own power supply, I do not have a red rocket card. The clips play back fine in Red Cine-X all the proxy files play as well but the X-Codes are giving me issues, just retried the render process but the first transcode is again all black....aaaarrrrgggggghhhhh, the Camera had a few issues but I did parity checks all the footage transferred succesfully but RedCine-X doesnt want to work for me today. Any Ideas? Thanks Very Much!

Please turn on verbose logging in preferences and then send rerun a batch.
After it happens, do "save report" and then email that to redcinex at red.

Thanks.

I ran a full debayer instead of quarter and its running so far instead of showing finished with errors but thats only cause I installed RedCine on a different drive, i tried 454 and 470 on different drives, no luck yet

The full debayer crashed, our schools camera threw up a few errors one relating to audio, I cant tell if its the camera, the software or what, we succesfully transcoded the first 7 rolls one clip from roll 3 and one from roll 8 and all of roll 9 10 11 and 12 wont work, at first they rendered black, now they all come up with an error, im guessing this footage is all jacked up because Clipfinder says I need redline (its installed) and wont render out acting strangely, FCP crashes when you try L & T, should I download Metafuze? What is goin on, editor is wanting his dailies, I think the feature that used the Red before us messed it up or dropped it IDK, can anyone offer suggestions? I sent all the console info to red already but no luck yet
