well, I've read 9 pages of post so far hoping anybody from RED would slip and give us a little more info on REDCODE RGB, but no takers so far. I do agree that for simple quick takes or non critical projects (auditions?), REDCODE RGB seems like an ideal alternative. Is it a straight RGB format? or is there any pixie dust magic in there ala ProRes?

Does anybody know the state of Adobe's equivalent to REDs .R3D file? I think it's called Cinema DNG or something.

Is that open?

Will R3D's be able to be converted to Cinema DNG?

Would anybody even want to do such a thing?

Does RED have any interest in that other format for any reason at all?

My suspicion is that Adobe's is playing catch up, but they might not even be equivalents.

Yes i Love the RED RAW and love to shoot on RedOne.
But
If i whant a small fast Camera i only see the 5D as an alternative, when will we get the Scarlet is it ever comming or what is going on.
Until the Scarlet is here i am forced to shoot in H264 if i whant nice Depht off field with a very handy Camera (5D)

So not realy anny discussion about RAW or H264 as the technolgy is now only H264 is available

Obin, a bit off-topic, but... with all the motion a helo can yield, aren't you concerned about the 5D2's severe jello-cam effect? Have you tested it on a helo before?
