so did some lens tests today with my new Raven, basically got the cieco7 ebay adapter from EF to PL and was told it would work with the optimos, but wanted to test, but looking around the shop i noticed their kowas also had slim zoom like pl mounts, the barrel of the mount itself is slimmer, tried them and almost peed myself when they worked, and man they are beautiful on this camera.
i also successfully rigged a paralinx and a preston setup on the raven with a dtap break out. so now this camera is basically going to ride on steadicam my whole show. this is a seriously amazing tool.
optimos and kowas it is!
here's some pictures!

Jealous! Looks great man! I've been in the same waiting game situation as you (within minutes of SW announcement)(although I wasn't as vocal) so I felt your pain. Still feeling it ha. Good to see you finally got such a great cam!

Hey Jordon
Do you have any focus issues with that 15-40 Optimo?
Can you get infinity without a problem?
A great range I imagine for the Raven

all the focus marks lined up and i got infinity! the first thing i tested.

oh i always thought you had to desqueeze in post, i thought in camera was just for viewing.

I think the issue is more in the chunk of sensor used and shooting anamorphic from the full sensor spherical style you have to crop heaps of excess from the sides.

btw, that is the old style outrigger handle flipped to be on the right side, now i can fold the monitor completely down and out for the way for rigs.
though to make it work, the 1/4-20 holes didnt line up by about a half a millimeter, so i had to drill out a little notch for each screw placement, then i put lower profile head screws so the monitor didnt touch anything when folded completely down.

I think that ebay seller has a list on one of his item listings about exactly which PL lenses work on the EF-PL adapter. I believe it's quite a few, actually. I remember using those adapters a lot back in the DSLR days

To extend the versatility of its zoom lenses, Angénieux has designed mounts to offer the ability to use most of the Optimo and Optimo Style lenses on Canon EF or Panavision cameras

Yes, that's true, problem is, most rental houses don't carry the EF mounts for those lenses..at least not the ones I know, they only have the PL version, so a cheap adapter that works well is great considering how much those lenses are being used in the industry.

yup that IS great, though using a weapon with a PL mount and raven with an EF mount on the same job, it made more sense to see if this adapter worked so that i can use the same lens with both bodies interchangeably. i like that most manufactures are doing this too, i hope cooke comes up with the same thing!

because of the rental problem i ordered at angenieux, so i am free to use an screw on my own anywhere. I also like and own a custum built EF/PL but somehow i like the screwOn version especially for the optimo line much more... but for other lenses like the kowa (good to know, thanxs for sharing jordan) and other fitting primes it is great to have.

angenieux prices are ok i guess:

- EF screw Adapter 24-290 Optimo - is 247,00€, around $280
- EF screw Adapter 25-250 Optimo Style - is 259,00€, around $295
- EF screw Adapter 45-120 Optimo/ 28-76 Optimo / 15-40 Optimo / 16-40 Optimo Style / 30-76 Optimo Style - is 259,00€, around $295
