  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Is this "door" coming to Scarlet D owners only or there is something in store for Epic D owners who don't want the Weapon yet but wouldn't mind to join DSMC2 form-factor too?
 
The data transfer rates and framerates are exactly the same at the previous 4K version. Where 4K, just add a .5 between the 4 and the K, ha.

you guys are badasses. This one thing alone, made this camera a much better option and i feel 100 percent better about my preorder. :)

Don't think it's silly at all, even cheap blackmagics have PL, C300s have PL, Panasonic have PL, why Raven should be any different? Interchangeable? No. Choice of fixed Canon or PL bodies - sure why not.

Raven has been turned into a perfect S35 A-cam. 1.09x crop factor. I want one - nay two!

BTW was 4.6 ever an option? Not asking for more, just curious.
 
Great news! But I have an Epic Dragon... Selling it and getting a Raven? The Upgrade to Weapon is too high for me...
 
Or Dragon owners who are shell shocked from the Weapon Upgrade path / cost?

It's perfect now. The .5 was the only thing I felt was missing - or I felt was that last bit to make it perfect. This is an amazing deal!

I think I just wet myself a little...

The question is will the Epic Dragon hold its trade in value with this new camera? Or will the Scarlet be the only camera allowed for trade-in? Because coming up with over $20 grand for the upgrade to Weapon and all the necessary new accessories is just to rich for me sadly.
 
What's the official crop factor on Raven 4.5k?

It doesn't make sense, because it wouldn't be a wise business decision.
Raven can only co-exist because Weapon and the other Dragon exist.
If we could get all the options in the cheapest cam, who would buy the others? ;)

Also:
Raven is a bird, not a Rhino. Raven is perfect for a flying cam, a cheap(er) intro to the RED world for the Indies, Starters, Students, Schools... I don't even know where to begin.
It's most probably the same reason why the OLPF is fixed. And it makes sense. Horses for courses.

If you need the hard stuff as light weight as possible, get a Carbon Weapon –*or wait until the Scarlet D option is out ;)
