Thanks for the Upload
That looks great, even though it's a heavily compressed video on YouTube

Agreed. I assumed it was getting blown way out of proportion, but with all the negative comments on it, and people switching to Scarlet-W, I was starting to get a little worried. I'm more than happy sticking with the Raven though.

2 thoughts.

This "crop factor" issue is way overblown.
Unfortunately the night example is out of focus, with focus being shallow from the guys face. Actually as he moves towards the camera at the end you can see him briefly in focus. That might be what people are seeing as not "appealing".

Exactly if you look at his arm in that vid you can see that's where the focus is and it doesn't look half bad to be 15:!

Thanks for the upload, there are only very few footage and this helps to make an idea of the quality of Raven.
Kwan Khan, do you feel is good quality on the test you made? looks like other dragon or mx bodies? Thanks!

LOL - no,

Fellas' try understand my situation, extremely busy (since my new App is out just a two weeks ago).
What I'm doing is carrying this body and tripod in trunk and If find any location with AC outlet I just simply plug it (without even asking - lol) for ya'll. I am not in NYC Plus I have no other lens then Rokinon 35mm with me.

Kwan Khan,

I am sorry if we missunderstood, my main language is not english.
I didn't refer to the quality of your test (we all apreciate that you spent some time sharing your this early footage)
I mean if you think that the camera has good quality, like how good is low light, sharpness...

Thanks for your time

Looks pretty good to me and good enough for my usual shoots.

Btw. Thanks for the file upload.

Kwan,
First, thank you for sharing your footage, really helpful for all of us to get a feel for the Raven's footage. Compared to the Epic or Scarlet X or Dragon, how do you feel the Raven measures up? Does the footage look and feel like the other Reds to you, does it have that quintessential 'RED' look? Or is it only 'sort of' Red.
For me the signature Red look has to be 100% in place in order to consider sticking with the Raven, if it leans even just a tad towards Sony and Canon's video look and feel...No way is it worth it (In my book!). Has to have the signature Red look. Otherwise it's going to have to be a Scarlet-W, which has proven to tix all the boxes and then some concerning the camera's footage and look.

Second, I'm sure many of the Raven's facebook groups users would love to try their hand at your footage samples. It it ok to link up to you R3D files on the facebook page?

Again, thanks for sharing! Finally something to help decide, you're the man.

Best
Kris

Sorry Kris, it's too early to give a definite answers for this since I have not had the chance to use Raven with Proper Setup (lenses and filters).

Please feel free to share footage with your fellow users.

Cheers

Kwan, how power hungry is Raven? How many minutes does it take to eat through a 90W or a 140W battery?

Sorry D,
I do not have any direct DC solution yet. Using AC or Helix (gimbal) via JetPack.

I certainly like the look, no problems here cinema wise for me. But I suspect a little color constancy issue with higher iso's. Can workflow auto correct from iso data?

Had a go at a blockbuster sort of look, probably could use a bit more polish:

Thanks for the r3ds, Kwan
