Warning: Following is not a test ... just FUN purposes (lol)..

Had RAVEN from past 3 weeks however I was busy and Just back in NYC...
So took RAVEN + Jet Pack Powered via Letus Helix (1-Axis) = Mounted on Steadicam and gave it to first time Steadicam user (lol)

Now somehow helix stop working as soon as we came downstair..... however someone managed to got me while I'm drinking water (lol) and yes it was cold (36º). Footage is kinda soft but I will try more tomorrow or this week at my GYM... or let me know what you guys want me to test and I can try...

2AM, Times Square, Rokinon 35mm, f2 (guessing), 121 fps, 4608X2160, 640ISO, 5600K, RC15:1 Some curve, Export HQ ProRess fron RCX

Thanks Kwan. It was a cold day around here for April, pretty brazen with the water. Obviously it was quick and dirty, exposure wasn't dialed in, but could you amuse us with an R3D to play around with detail recapture?

Haha nice demo! Thanks for adding to the RAVEN examples.

Looks to be some flicker from the lighting - is that really 121fps (or was that a typo?).

Thanks for sharing Kwan. I will love to see what you shoot today around the city even if is on a tripod

I actually don't think it looks that bad, I do feel like the focus is off but in terms of using 120fps is def useable

Absolutely correct....
We suppose to do some TEST for you guys... however Helix stop working as soon as we about to have our first take. This was unplanned shot (we took it just for fun) while we were about to cross a street.. and off-course I will share R3D

Yes, 121fps

Its Rainy so no go for out door, but I'm heading to my GYM soon and may be able grab quick stuff (locked on Tripod) for ya'll

Correct, its soft... Attached Follow focus on Steadicam wasn't working (Jammed to the lens) since it was powered via helix and Helix was down

Thanks for sharing Kwan. I'd like to see some camera movement shots.
Love to have camera movement move but may be not possible now, but will do as soon as I get this helix back in working mode (lol),

why and how 121fps?
i thought 120 fps was the max at 4k?

lol, its definitely useable... I was getting scared thinking that I made mistake.
First off, don't use your phone to view the video.
Second, don't throw it on the TV using your phone (apple TV thing).
Max resolution on the phone was showing 720p, I started asking myself if that was a mistake or why the uploader downscale it that much.

Anyway, thanks Kwan.

BTW, hello everyone... first post.
I preordered the Raven Sunday, now I'm patiently waiting...
First RED camera, but I rented the Epic once before.

Kwan, could you get shots over by 7th & 34th? West gives the top of the Empire State building. The Macy's/Penn station has a good diverse crowd of skintones . The evening mixed lighting is a bit more manageable. Also, maybe a sunset shot over the river (circa 7:15 ish). Just pointed down the street from you, I think. Anything close to magic hour or after, would great. Maybe just push the ISO outside the comfort zone. Simple stuff. If you have the time. Thanks.

Sorry fella time is running against me (until end of this month), however you can pickup Raven on Sunday (by my Studio 42nd and 8th) and you have to power Raven via Dead Heliux since I do not have V-mount solution yet (that will be fun with Dead Helix- Hahahah)

Thank you. Generous offer, but headed to NAB. Time locked as well. And the weather in New York should be gorgeous also. bummer! Cheers!

2016/04/13:
post new video on #1

Thank you very much for taking the time to post this, Kwan. Would love to get a chance to play with the .r3d file of the gym.

cheers

Wow, if that's a 35mm for those gym shots, the crop factor is much less significant than I was anticipating. Looks great. Was this shot at 4.5K?

2 thoughts.

This "crop factor" issue is way overblown.
Unfortunately the night example is out of focus, with focus being shallow from the guys face. Actually as he moves towards the camera at the end you can see him briefly in focus. That might be what people are seeing as not "appealing".
