Hello RED community!
As many of you know, the week has dawned upon us. RAVEN takes flight this week, most likely Thursday for the first blast of allocations (just like Scarlet W's trend). Jarred, in his March update, said that expect a few dozen on the first blast, with increasing numbers on the blasts after, then hopefully hit full stride in the first couple weeks of April. That means the usual trickle into a flood of allocations.
I know its a little far fetched to expect everyone to communicate on here, plus, the majority of the RED community do not actively use REDUser, but its worth something to each and every one of you who have a RAVEN on order.
If you have a RAVEN on order and you receive an allocation, if you don't mind sharing, please post your timestamp, RAVEN Brain only or Package, and allocation message. I think it will help the community (since a good portion of RAVEN pre-orderers are first time RED users and are not familiar with the process of allocation).
Now, a message to you first time RED users. Waiting is always hard, especially when you begin seeing people with RAVENs. Just know, RED is working to their fullest to deliver everything in a timely manner. And also understand that these cameras are manufactured in the U.S. and tested FULLY before it ships to you. It takes time and care to deliver excellent products and RED has no intention of sending anything less than that. The next 2 or 3 weeks is going to be a slow process. As Jarred said, a few dozen at most. I'm not expecting more than 50 cameras on the first blast then the next blast will occur the week following, same day, and possibly with more numbers being allocated. If you ordered on 9/24, 9/25, its going to be a bit since they are the most 'dense' days with orders literally minutes or even seconds apart. Once the first few days of RAVEN orders gets by, those of you who are spread from October up until March 17th, the allocations will spread a wider date range due to the less dense orders.
The allocation process is pretty simple to explain. RED goes on the queue list and choose chronologically the people who they have camera for. The number of cameras produced = numbers of people allocated. Pretty simple. When that person receives an allocation email, they are delivered in the invoice (if they have a balance remaining) and are usually given 10 business days to pay. You can always work with your BombSquad Rep to extend that period for understandable circumstances. If the person who's allocated DOES NOT respond within the time frame, the order is simply skipped and goes to the next person on the queue.
If you have any questions about the process, feel free to ask questions in this thread if it relates to anything I posted up there! Looking forward to talking with all of you RAVEN users!
