Hey guys,

I'm bringing up some really old stuff haha. I have a Epic-M (preowned, originally bought in September 2014) and it has the fixed OLPF inside. It should be the V2, the Skin-Tone-Highlight (at least in the menu it says STH, and as far as I figured out, back then the brains where shipped with either V1 LLO or V2 OLPF).

I read a lot about the right exposure for the different interchangeable OLPFs, but I didn't find anything about the fixed STH one.

So my question is, how do I expose and rate the fixed STH OLPF right?

Until now, I rated the camera with ISO 800 and ETTR. The new STH OLPF should be rated to ISO 320-400, so I'm not sure how to rate my camera correctly.

Thank you very much.

You will probably want to rate your camera between 320-640 but the only way to know for sure is to test, preferably with a really good light meter.

Didn´t RED upgrade the older versions to the new changeable OLPFs free of charge? May be worth asking as using the appropriate OLPF is a great benefit. I tend to not starve the sensor when I use the STH OLPF because of the more pronounced (red) noise. Cheers!

Thanks Marcus! I will try around these ISO settings.

Ulf, yeah I can do the free update, which I will definitely get but for this, I need it to send it in ( I am not that comfy with the DIY style haha) so until I'll send it in, it would be cool to rate it right. And thanks for your answer!

I am always a little bit careful with changing the ISO for my rating because the actual native ISO of the Epic Dragon is 800, it's where I have those 8 stops below and above middle grey. So that's the part where I am unsure about the correct rating.
