R3D2DPX pulled - R3D support returning later

I wanted to let the community know that we (CineForm) have pulled our R3D file converter. We look forward to reinstating full support for R3D files in an even bigger way in the hopefully-not-too-distant future.

In the mean time we continue to support an online 4K / 2K workflow through exports to CineForm 444 or CineForm Intermediate (4:2:2) through RedCine and RedAlert.

Wait Wait -- Not really, more like the early bird catches pneumonia.

Sorry to hear about this, Cineform provides an incredible solution for those on a PC and more recently on a Mac.

It's unfortunate the situation had to end like this, but it is understandable and I commend Mr. Taylor for his professional and expedient response. I look forward to the day in the near future where this can be re released in a bigger and more accepted way. David you give us PC guys hope. Thanks.

I guess Red found out just how hyped up we are about this camera. A paradigm shift only comes around so often and we all want to be on that train, that includes us crusty old PC users. OMG I just realized I still edit on Avid, I'm truly screwed! HA (I love you Avid)

It is not unfortunate at all. Everyone should feel very fortunate that cineform did the right thing by allowing the codec to be developed properly.

As much as I want the smoothest and best possible workflow in the PC/Premiere environment to be available now, I totally agree.

I'm with you. I am lost on a MAC. Although i do like Mac's and would love to learn them, I was born and raised on PCs (although my first computer was an apple 2.....). And while I do sympathize for the people who think they need to edit their footage right away on their PC; if they truly had a reason for such urgency, they would already have a solution in place. Basically the only people complaining are the people who have no real need for it anyway in the first place.

I sure hope so! Cineform guys are really good people as I like to think Red guys are...they all need to play nice...cineform is strong...I like the workflow for the most part...
