  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

R3D Scarlet files

My Apologies the file was mislabeled. Its not HDRx footage. In the confusion of posting I mislabeled that. I apologize. I have fixed it (at least placement of the link, and will shoot something low light for you all)
Also I would like to add, this thing is pretty heavy. I was really thrown off at how small this is and how heavy it was. You pick it up and you can really feel the build quality. I tell people how much it cost...and my friends dont want to even hold it.

@barry what will you be firing at the range? It'd be nice to see the muzzle flash of some hot 357's at 100fps.

LOL =)

Does anyone know if 120 fps at 1K has been enabled yet? I thought it hasn't.

Ive got a benelli m3 (italian shotgun doing some trap shooting) then were off to the rifle range to shoot us sniper rifles. I promise I wont disappoint....though the battery might :) Charging both redvolts right now.

120fps isn't enabled.

a light natural grade...

Thanks for posting the R3Ds...

18:1 compression maybe?

There seem to be some discrepancies between the labeling of the clips and the metadata.

24fps @ 4k 7:1 (friends low light 427mb) --> The metadata (when viewed in RCX Pro by right clicking on the clip and choosing "Metadata...") indicates a record frame rate of 12 (not 23.976) and a frame rate of 23.976. It plays back fast in RCX Pro Build 9 Beta and Premiere 5.5. Resolution is 4096x2160 (4k), which is correct.

15fps @ 5k 7:1 (LowLight street 179mb) --> Metadata indicates the record frame rate is 12 (not 15) with a frame rate of 23.976. The resolution indicated is 5120x2700 (5k), which is correct.

15fps at 4k 7:1 (Kitchen with dad smiling 575mb) --> Metadata indicates record frame rate is 15 and frame rate is 23.976. The resolution indicated is 3840x2160 (does this count as 4k?).

24fps @ 2k 18:1 (Cars driving by outside 355mb) --> Metadata indicates record frame rate is 30 (not 23.976) and frame rate is 23.976. The resolution indicated is 2048x1080 (2k), which is correct.

24fps at 4k 6:1 (Flowers 912mb) --> Metadata indicates record frame rate is 23.976 and frame rate is 23.976. The resolution indicated is 3840x2160. This seems to be correct, provided 3840x2160 counts as 4k.

Some of your frame rate info matches and some doesn't. Every other R3D that I load from other people has the correct record frame rate and resolution (where 4k = 4096x2160).

Are these clips mislabeled? Could this beta release be screwing up the numbers somehow?

Or, am I missing something?

Uh, oh. I hope I didn't mix up the files when I created the download links to the clips on our server...

This could be one of two things. Either the filenames are off or the beta release of REDCINE-X is causing an issue.

Brian, do you have a stable release of RC-X you could open the files in? If you see the same anomalies in multiple versions of RC-X, that means that I did something wrong.

Barry, I'll double-check the clips against the filenames you gave me. I'm nearly certain that I kept everything in order, but there could be a possibility that I mixed up a few of the files.

I know this Build 9 Beta is quirky. What's the last "stable" version for Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8? Build 8 Beta seemed way more stable to me. Will that do or should I go further back?

Cars look bad cause it was shot 18:1 i believe according to a request. also the files could be labeled wrong on my end. I went by how redcine reported, which has reported 15fps as 23.98
