I've had some problems with the R1 shutting down from a hit. One time it fell on it's side to concrete from a Apple box, and the second time it was knocked down on floor. After these the camera boots up normally, and works on handheld shooting too.
So is there somekind of fuse for dropping the camera etc?
If not, I think it might be on the battery-plate or cable.

It's the battery connection. Our connection is so tenuous at this point that even a slight touch to the battery will destroy the connection.

That's what I've observed on the R1.

Red's battery plate contacts were always a bit unreliable. Check the contacts on your batteries and the plates are clean and not damaged. The springy bits on the battery plates can get compressed and not spring back. A pin or instrument screwdriver can be used to pry them back out to make better, more reiiable, contact.
