So I just took the plunge for some more classic looking glass. Leica Elmirat 28 2.8 and Leica Summicron 90mm F2. Part of getting these was knowing I wanted a more classic feel to my wedding films, but also I used to love shooting my leica rangefinder (m2), just had great character.

So anyways, I have a couple nikon to mft speedboosters I have been using and wondering if I shouldn't just use something like this to adapt so I can still have access to all my nikon glass rather than getting a couple more r-mft speedboosters? I shoot 3 gh4's currently

Thoughts?

Might as well toss in a film I did recently, I had just got a a7sii and was having a really hard time matching the footage, since then I dumped it and got another gh4

I use the Leitax to convert all of my Leica R to Nikon F mount. It costs a bit more but you aren't using an adapter and the lens becomes a Nikon lens. Wait,

I see those are the screw in type. Just double check the material as the lighter weight ones could create some culmination problems.

yeah I gotta figure it out, I would like to keep my speed boosters rather than deal with the 2x crop on gh4, also the added speed is great, wow this is a bit confusing!

Just pick whatever lens you need it for on the left hand list. It's very good actually because not every lens has the same number of screw holes, etc.

90mm

Check your serial numbers to see which of the 28mm ones you need or check the images. on the site.

just got the lenses, wow, very classic feel

The leitax mounts are great. I have a few L-Rs with EF mounts and they're beautiful on the GH4 (despite the crop factor). They should work well for wedding work, but I'm picky about which jobs I send my Leicas on and usually send my Canon FD - L lenses out with the GH4s unless it really calls for more. For wedding, especially if you're also shooting stills, the L-Rs rock on any cam.

thanks man, I shot a bit yesterday a couple for a save the date thing, from a quick glance at the footage I think I am really gonna like these lenses. I do think I will have to adapt to f and use my speedboosters though

Now how the hell do I get a filter on this 90mm?

I think that one is a E55, or 55mm thread. Or, use a mattebox.

wonder if one of the bright tangine clip ons would be too heavy for them

Generally, I'd avoid putting a clip on on any still lens that hasn't been rehoused to PL mount. The mounts and lenses aren't designed to handle the weight.

yeah I just took a look at these and I wouldnt do it either. I am just gonna grab the correct adaptor rings
