  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

R.I.P Vilmos Zsigmond

First Haskell and then Vilmos. I wrote a long paper at USC about Vilmos in 1978. When I met him about 9 years later he asked to read it. He was so charming and gracious. An amazing talent.

A very sad loss. "Close Encounters" and "Heaven's Gate" are among the best shot movies of all time. "McCabe and Mrs. Miller", "Deliverance", "The Long Goodbye", "The Sugarland Express", "Obsession", "The Deer Hunter", "Blow Out", "The River", "The Witches of Eastwick", "The Ghost and the Darkness", "The Black Dahlia" are superior work too.

Very sad. Fortunately, he has left an incredible body of work and has had such great influence on a lot of people over the years.

Wow! Very sad, as he was one of the best of the best.

Excellent Cinematographer with humble curious attitude which was a pleasure to be around.

RIP Vilmos

I knew Vilmos and was fortunate enough to have him share wonderful stories about the shows he worked on.

A true gentleman and and incomparable artist.

"No Subtitles Necessary", a great documentary about both Vilmos Zsigmond and Laszlo Kovacs, the two Hungarian born cinematographers who changed the face of Hollywood with their unique style. If you haven't seen it yet I highly recommend.
