In Jon's latest update of the FAQ Sticky (a great idea by the way. Thanks for a place to get the latest news without searching through numerous posts) he writes:

"Issues with the quality of recent cast parts are making us take a second look at the manufacturing process and will likely cause a slow down in the availability of cast parts for the time being."

What cast parts is he referring to? Parts on the camera body or on some of the accessories?

I believe we're talking about the accessories such as the dovetail. There seems to be some play in some of the parts, so they're looking into the process to see what can be improved. Don't want to knock them yet as my tests have not begun yet, but that has been the general consensus, that some of the accessories are not quite up to snuff. They'll work it out. If not, there are other options available - Element Technica for example.

Some of the side rails were not cast with enough "wrap around" on the rods, so the would literally pull right off after they were tightened.

Not a good thing if you're Red was on a car rig, for example... ;0

I know some people who had that problem have since gotten replacement rails that were OK.
