Hi!

I plan on using the quickplate/battery combination instead of the cradle, but I do have some questions concerning that. Hopefully someone can help out!

1) Is the battery plate included in the quickplate?

2) What is the Quickplate Adaptor for? What is it needed for?

3) How do you others plan on fastening the Quickplate to the system?

Thanks!

Hi Marcus,

1) Yes the battery plate is included with the Quickplate.

2) The Quickplate adaptor simply gives you more mounting options for the Quickplate.

3) I'll be getting both and attaching them to a universal mount.

Cheers,
Damien

To further elaborate on earthling's post, the quickplate allows for the mounting of the battery only instead of having to carry the extra weight of the RED Drive cradle as well.

Another cool option is the RED Battery Plate Belt Clip.

This unit has a 3' cord and allows for the battery to be mounted onto the tripod via bungees or the like taking a good 3-4lbs off of the tripod heads workload and most importantly, if doing hand-held work, will allow you to clip the battery onto your belt while operating, thus relieving additional un-wanted weight on the camera.

Another option is to put a Universal mount on the top of the camera and hook the belt clip to it. I know a RED guy that does it and it works very well.

Bleepin' brilliant. Occasionally I am am able to justify some of the inordinate amount of time I spend on this forum, this would be one of those times. Thanks Scott and anyone else who conceived of and shared this tip - Cheers.
