  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hi Guys,

I'm editing a music video in PP at the moment.Looking to get a first cut sent off to a client and looking for the quickest route possible.
I put the 4k footage into a 1080 timeline so I could reframe etc and it's inevitably ending up online.
Once I locked the cut and rendered everything I exported to a low res 720p for the client to view.
Thing is the 720 export is taking approx 6 hours to actually export I'm guessing due to the reframing PP has to do for export.
I'm also using low res settings like CBR of 5,Max Bit Rate turned off etc but it's still taking forever.
Is there a quicker workflow? I'm not running off the fastest system in the world with no RED Rocket but I'm hoping you guys might have figured out a quicker solution.
Just a pain because the client can't be present for the cut so after spending all the time doing the export chances are changes are going to be made and I will have the same thing on the next export and so on....

Any help appreciated.

John.

John,

Try exporting a prores 1080 first- then make a H264 from the prores. We've noticed that keeping the res matching the timeline and going to prores is faster and more stable.
