In the last few days using our camera at an exhibition here in Beijing I found that our camera sometimes had some problems booting up and got hung up. One time it was due to a power outage at our booth that our camera wouldn't boot up anymore using DC power or battery. When I was using the battery it would only boot up untill "booting...". Using DC power it wouldn't even come to that.
So I just started playing around with it untill it would boot up and I found something interesting I haven't read before here on the forum. Maybe some people already found this solution and maybe some people didn't. So just for the record I'm gonna post it here anyway.

When your camera gets hung up on the booting screen saying "booting..." or just the first few lines of your camera specs then just hold the EXIT and UNDO button for 5 - 10 seconds untill it reboots itself. This way you don't have to shut down the entire camera again and try that a few times untill it boots up. Every time I used this key-combo it would just reboot without getting hung up again.

Does RED recommend this?
I thought you need to remove LCD cable if you are having booting problems with build 16.

why don't you describe that to Red and lets see what they have to say.

Actually RED didn't say anything about this yet. And because I also unplugged everything that was hooked up to the camera before trying to reboot, it would still not boot up. So that's why i started pressing and holding several buttons at the same time at boot up. The RED ONE is, in its most besic sense, still a computer... :innocent:
