I know the scarlet can produce fab pictures, so decided to do a stress test in very poor circumstances to see the results, considering all the downs, the end result is very good.
To edit and process native R3D footage at 4K is as quick as video form a Sony EX1r or Canon FX305 in Premier Pro 5.5.2
"This was a stress test for getting footage though very un-ideal circumstances.
Shot on a very dull day, through a not very clean double glazed window, and through heater vent steam, subject at 40 yards on a canon 100-400mm at 400mm 5.6.5 800 ISO 25p 50fps, 4K 6:1, tripod on a very bouncy carpet!
Put into a PPr 1080p 422 ProRes timeline at 100%, clip therefore at 100% 4K, a quick grade in RedCine-X before importing the native R3D file. Down converted to 720p mp4 file for vimeo.
Before rendering this could be played back in real time at 1/2 Res on my iMac 16GB i7. Time from filming to MP4 10 minutes, thats almost an instant turn around."
