Just ordered a CineSlider with K-pod/Hercules head.

Hercules Head: http://www.kesslercrane.com/product-p/100075.htm

I'd like to find a reasonably priced quick release that would work on both when using the Scarlet.

I only have the Scarlet and and Canon Mount package on order. And I may join the REDmote lottery.

I noticed that Kessler sold this Giottos M621:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/318567-REG/Giottos_MH621_M621_Quick_Release_Assembly.html

which should work with their both the Hercules Head and the CineSlider, but it only seems to have one screw of each size and I think the Scarlet has holes for two?

It also has an optional Long Quick Release plate, which would be useful for balancing.

This Manfrotto 577:

seems more limiting as I didn't see an optional long plate. And I guess it only comes with 1 screw of each size also.

I've never bought a quick release before, just used the one that came with a Manfrotto tripod/head combination, so ... I'm a little in the dark on the pros/cons!!!

What are some good choices that would work? Thanks!

interested in this also, about to order the herc head/k-pod along with crane and cineslider for my scarlet.

are there are any other hercules head users out there?

I recently acquired several Kessler items, including the K-Pod tripod and Hercules Head. Great equipment but be forewarned that it is a real beast of a combination. It'll hold up a house but it is very beefy and heavy.

Actually, I bought the k-pod/Hercules to justify all those years of lifting weights at the health club. Some said it was pure vanity, but it was all done in preparation for this.

Hopefully this signals a return to 'manly' values based on heavy non-carbon-fiber equipment.

When the RED first came out, I understand you had to be a 'real-man' to even lift it or get both hands around it!!

Support Kessler Crane - keeping America healthy, one tripod at a time!!!

But, seriously, I do like the idea that it will be totally stable with the CineSlider on top - and can be used for cranes and jibs.

The lifetime warranty isn't bad either.

I have a Hercules Tripod Head and the Philip Bloom pocket dolly, and I've been looking for a good quick release solution too. I sent an email to Custom Bracket this week to see if they have a product that fits the bill but I haven't heard back yet. If it turns out they have a solution I'll post it here. Let me know if you find a good quick release solution - thanks!

I started another thread on the 'Accessories for DSMC', probably where I should have begun - and there are some interesting comments on different quick releases.
