Given that technology has moved on since PAL and NTSC... are HD and UHD discs delivered in the original frame rate of the title? E.g. is the disc of Citizen Kane a 3:2 pulldown, or is it actually 24fps? If so, are the TVs designed to accept arbitrary frame rates (to a point)?

Hey Karim, most 4k UHD blu rays are mastered at 23.976p and some motion settings need be tweaked on most modern displays to smooth out judder which has always been inherent with 24.00 frames per second content. On my LG OLED, this wasn't an issue to fine tune and get good results. Where the format really shines is on remastered and restored films like Lawrence of Arabia, Cinema Paradiso or Kane ect... No streaming, not even 4k UHD Netflix or Amazon Prime can match the data rates of 4k HDR or Dolby Vision blu ray disc, and therefore a films grain structure is compromised in comparison. The detail and fine grain preserved is very impressive in most cases and quality restorations are judged in part on how well this is done without the use of DNR or as little as possible.
