  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Quick plate module 2 pin Leno ports

RED and ARRI use the same 2-pin standard, as do Teradek and Paralinx…with Pin 1 (the ground) connected to the "key" side of the LEMO, and Pin 2 (the +12V power) connected to the other side.

Some manufacturers like Letus (Helix) and Bartech use the opposite wiring, what is called the "U.S. Standard" version…with the +12V power connected to the "key" side of the LEMO and ground connected to the other side. Be careful plugging in 2-pin cables and accessories…make sure you know which is which…or you can start blowing things up.

Hey Mike,

Also, 2-pin Lemo is only for 12v power. If you need Arri-style R/S functionality, that would be a 24v 3-pin Fischer. If the module you're using with the Epic lacks a Fischer3 connector, then you'd have to use the Epic timecode breakout cable with the 3 BNCs and trigger R/S with a BNC cable. The BNC to Preston camera cable is usually supplied with a Preston FIZ or Single Channel from the rental house.

The good thing, or bad, with two pin lemos.. You can push in the metal housing and spin them 180, viola reversed polarity... Some say D tap is bad, well most 2 pin lemos has this feature and normally they have diods in the accessories so no real danger but just as potential to fry something as dtap.
