hello
I buy a recement camera RED ONE MX equip SSD hard drives. I have a questions. How upgrade firmwarwe : 32.0.3 on the manufacturer's website links are blocked . how can I do?

How many hours life maximum for the camera ? 5000 hours ? 10000 ?

my camera 2300 hours.

I will adapt Rokinon lense EF . my camera 's PL mount .

what do you recommend ?

thanks.

You'll need to create a login to download the firmware, and you'll need to install a Canon EF mount to use EF lenses. It would be easier to use the Nikon flavor Rokinon set as it's easier to find a Nikon mount for the R1.

Ideally you would have bought your camera while arranging with Red to transfer ownership to you. This does cost some money, but it entitles you as the new owner to download new firmware now & in the future, as well as getting technical support.

This also protects against buying used cameras that might have been stolen in the past. Talk to the seller to arrange transfer of ownership or to install the firmware for you.

There are no moving parts, so there is no set maximum life. 2300 hours is not very high, so as long as it fully works now then there's no reason to expect failure.

Unfortunately there are no currently available third party mounts to allow EF mount lenses on the Red One MX. You may be able to buy a Birger EF Mount secondhand on this forum, but it needs someone who is technical to install it without damaging the camera and/or the Birger Mount, because it involves removing the complete PL mount assembly

If you need to use stills lenses straight away, then consider Nikon mount lenses with Red's Nikon mount http://www.red.com/store/products/red-one-nikon-mount. This involves partial disassembly of the front of the PL mount. There are also some other third party Nikon mounts for the Red One. e.g. Optitek does one http://optitek.org/nikon-prolock.php. They do sometimes go secondhand on this forum.

thank you very much for your quick responses . See you soon
