Dear RED,

Now that the remaining R1s are selling for $4K (thanks a lot by the way I've ordered several), how about making the transfer of ownership fee for the ONE, and only for the ONE, cheaper than $850? That is over 20% of the camera's value and a considerable expense with that in mind. Before the November 1st announcement I had already bought two other R1's from private sellers and have yet to get them transferred to my name, simply because I'm busy using them, but also because $850 a camera is significant enough of an expense to postpone. Please don't misunderstand, I am grateful for RED's pricing structures from the very beginning, so I am not asking for the arm after being given the hand, it just makes sense in the particular case of the R1.

Respectfully,

I guess RED just lowered the transfer fee to $500 plus the $100 evaluation, $600 instead of $850, good for Scarlet and Epic transfers, better than nothing for R1 to be certain...

I agree with you completely.

I have always thought Red's ownership transfer fees were over the top. But, I guess they have to make money just like the rest of us.

What I "am" very disappointed in is the drastic drop in Red-One prices. It saddens me to know that I paid almost $50,000.oo for a new Red-One Package that I could buy today for $8,000.oo or less. It may be used, but so what.

Oh well, life goes on.
