Hello,

I did a search and couldn't find anything on the Zeiss ZF.2 lenses on here so thought i'd ask.
I'm wondering what the general perception of these lenses are? I'm thinking about buying a few of them. (i've linked below the ones I'm thinking about buying)
When shooting higher-end gigs I usually just rent cause I can't afford to drop 20K on a set of great class. It would be nice to have a decent set of Zeiss though.

Thank you in advance!

I have them and like them very much. I shot a short on Scarlet this year and love the way it looks. The contrast is consistent from lens to lens. They are extremely sharp and produce a bokeh that I find to be smooth and honest. The wides behave nicely with little distortion. I have 85mm down to the 21 mm. The usual issues with working with still lenses persist. The throw is very different for each, they breath differently from lens to lens but not as badly as some still lenses. Also with Nikon lenses, the focus direction is reversed. I worked that out with the reverse gear available on the Zacuto FF I have. You'll want a FF with a reverse gear. I gathered the set over time and had Duclos do the modifications. They are great over there. They checked the lenses for me as part of the mod. It's well worth it just to have the fixed gear and infinitely variable aperture control. I would not say that it helps doing an aperture pull during a shot. You have to be extremely dexterous as fitting a gear on the aperture ring is not practicable.

They have close to 0 chromatic aberration. As a scarlet user that's pretty nice, good for special effects stuff too if you're doing that. the 50mm 1.2 isn't so great wide open, I'd get the 50mm 2.0 instead, also get the 35mm 1.4 instead of 2.0.
